What in the world is Roly Polys Nanakorobi Yaoki?

Roly Polys (Nanakorobi Yaoki) is a japanese edutainment game released in March of 1997 by Osamu Sato, the mastermind behind LSD DREAM EMULATOR. LSD DREAM EMULATOR was an obscure PS1 game brought to the public eye by a YouTuber called Obscure Horror Corner.

So what's the deal with it? Well, it was considered lost for years. Recently, the discord for Osamu Sato's creations was able to find a copy that not even the creator himself was able to find.

This isn't all. Vinny from Vinesauce played the game, and soon after, a YouTuber called MamaMax (307k subscribers) was contacted by a concerned mother. The mother was frantically typing in the email she sent to Max, telling him about her son's death due to a mysterious edutainment game she'd let him play alone while she cooked dinner.

She tells Max that her son had been found with an internal brain hemmorage (Brain cancer) soon after. He goes to look into the obscure game, finding that there aren't many sources for him to sift through aside from a couple discord servers. Upon entering one, he's contacted immediately by a member asking for his address.

Now, MamaMax created a video about a Japanese cult that's still active before this video. Poor guy knew he was possibly a target. Max was able to turn it around on the person asking for his address, sending the person an IP grabbing link. He quickly finds the IP to be the same as the mother.

So is it dangerous?

What happened?

Modern day creepypastas are probably one of the first things people think of when they hear the word. But what is creepypasta and where did it come from? Where did it start?

You're probably familiar with the term copypasta. Creepypastas are a subgenre of copypastas. If you're not sure what I mean, the attack helicopter identification paragraph is a popular copypasta. Creepypasta was never that great, and people often make fun of stories like Jeff the Killer, a well known pasta within the universe.

Why is that? Jeff the killer was a story that had many versions. The most popular version being that of a young boy whose threatened and then  bleached and burned.. Then he kills his brother and his whole family?? And at some point he was scolding his parents for over dressing? Forgive me, it's been awhile. That story was eventually moved to the trollpasta wiki just for how awful and inconsitent it was.

But are all creepypasta stories bad? Today we will be taking a trip through the black hole that is creepypasta.

Creepypasta stories are always fake and should never be seen as true. It's not always a good place to look into for the mentally ill either, as seen with the slender man stabbing, where a young girl was stabbed several times for Slenderman. You may have heard of Jeff the Killer, Sonic.Exe, Eyeless Jack, etc.. These characters are often romanticised and depicted as hot. It's really weird.

But what about those like Candle Cove? Believe it or not, that one was actually pretty good and there are more like it! You just have to dig.

Sometimes it's hard to remember that stories that are even popular now used to be good. BEN drowned was actually a pretty cool pasta before he became an object for the fandom of pre teen girls to romanticize and draw in weird situations... I could never forget what I have seen... Dark times.

So what happened? Why did Creepypasta become a joke? It started seriously, but now it's just another thing to meme on. Creepypasta was popular during the 2010s, it's peak around 2007. One of the first creepypastas and most famous is Jeff the Killer. People like to make fun of it, and it was later on down the road when people began to realize how bad it was.

No matter how awful it is, I still love creepypasta dearly, it holds a special place in my heart and many others, I know that for sure.

What is Wired Sound for Wired People?

Wired sound for Wired people as it's often called, is a fan website and personal blog for an artist called Fauux. The fan website part comes in when you view the art. Animated gifs from the anime Serial Experiments Lain are plastered all over, and some of the gorgeous music from the anime is shared as well! It's a beautiful story, I suggest you check it out if you enjoy psychological horror like I do.

The website is a bit mysterious, but the longer you stay on it, the more you can feel the life and passion in it. It's odd and so unique, it's perfect.

fauux.neocities.org is the website URL, please go check it out! It's dedicated to Fauux's art and taste in obscure japanese music. Some of my favorite songs have been found on there, it's such a nice vibe. The website's music, the electrical wirr behind the music, it's all so perfect, so alive...

Fauux's twitter was sadly suspended, but his work will forever remain a relic on his site. He was active once again just last year on the site, meaning he's still here! I hope Fauux is getting the praise he deserves. Actually, now that I think about it, he might be a she or a they!

I hope they get the praise they deserve! Fauux deserves it, his website is just one example of how talented and creative he is.

The website was started in 2013, and I hope it stays up for a few more long years. We will never forget you if you fade into time one day Fauux!
